Anthurium Michelle (Anthurium sp. Hybrid)
Anthurium Michelle is a hybrid cultivar created from Anthurium magnificum.
Anthurium magnificum is a species of aroid native to the rainforests of Central and South America, and the habitat it is naturally found in is warm and humid. As with many aroids this Anthurium will climb and size up its leaves as it matures.
According to the DocBlock website:
"The Michelle boasts an extraordinarily dark emergent leaf with purple veins that evolve into burgundy-black hues with contrasting white veins".
Anthurium Michelle prefers warm, humid conditions (40% or more) with bright, indirect light. The recommended soil is an aroid mix that retains sufficient moisture while still allowing for drainage of excess water and airflow to the roots.
Watering should be done weekly or when the top inch of soil is dry, and can be fertilized every 3-4 weeks.
