Velvet leaves, silver veins, and a glow that stops people mid-scroll. The Anthurium Crystallinum plant (Anthurium crystallinum) is a collector favourite with deep green, heart-shaped leaves traced in crystalline white veining that seems to shimmer as the light shifts.

Native to the rainforest understory of Central and South America (Panama, Colombia, and Peru), it grows as an epiphyte or on the forest floor in warm, humid shade. New leaves often unfurl in a coppery bronze before settling into that dark velvet green. Given steady care, each leaf comes in bigger than the last, so this is a plant that rewards a little patience.
